National Tour Bogdan Mihai Simion & Lăutarii de Mătase 2 -A new show. A new tour. A completely new musicality!
After the success of the previous tours, the traditional music collector and one of the last cobza players in Romania, Simion Bogdan-Mihai, returns to the stage with his band, Lăutarii de Mătase, in a new tour, built as a fresh show, with new melodies, new arrangements and renewed energy.
This tour marks a new artistic stage, bringing an added touch of sonic color through the presence of the trumpet, which opens up new expressive directions and enriches the musical universe of the band.
Born in 1990 in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Simion Bogdan-Mihai began studying the cobza at just 15 years old, dedicating his life to collecting, preserving, and reinterpreting authentic Lautar music. Since 2006, he has traveled across Romania in search of forgotten songs, learning directly from the last cobza players of the tradition.
Over time, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Mihai Mărgineanu, Taraf de Haidouks, Les Elephants Bizarres, Chimie, Samurai and others. He created the soundtrack for the successful documentaries "Flavours of Romania" and "Wild Carpathia", directed by the British journalist Charlie Ottley.
The albums "Valahia în Demol" (2021) and "Drum pavat cu bolovani" (2023), both produced by Adrian Despot, have recorded record sales and have established him as one of the most important contemporary traditional music artists.
His music combines Romanian peasant music, urban Lăutărească music and classic Romanian pop (waltzes, tangos and cabaret songs from the first half of the 20th century), reinterpreted in a contemporary vision.
