Oxana (a young woman "modern" to the tips of her nails, beautiful, slightly naive, but extremely determined) proposes to Elena Vladimirovna (a wife by profession, past her youth, but intelligent, with "look" and initiated in the ways of life) a deal as indecent as it is unprecedented: a sale-purchase contract for her much-desired husband for the tempting sum of "twelve thousand".
