What happens when dance abandons rules and begins to speak through emotion, gesture, and movement? A new contemporary ballet premiere arrives on the Constanta stage

The National Opera and Ballet Theatre "Oleg Danovski" Constanta invites the public to a special event: "Contemporary Ballet Performance" - Premiere, a meeting with contemporary dance, with its expressive power and the freedom to tell stories beyond words.

The show will take place on Sunday, December 20, 2026, starting at 18:30, at the Trade Union House of Culture in Constanța.

How can movement convey what words fail to say? And what is born when music, body, and emotion meet in an artistic language without limits?

Through sensitivity, dynamism, and an aesthetic specific to contemporary dance, this new production offers the audience a different stage experience, in which movement is a means of expression, and each gesture can hide a story. The show's imagery, dominated by movement, fluidity, and contrasts, suggests a universe in constant transformation, a space where dancers explore emotion and the relationship between body, music, and stage.

“Contemporary Ballet Performance” – Premiere marks a new meeting of the Constanța audience with choreographic art and opens a perspective towards modern forms of expression, in which the tradition of ballet meets the freedom of contemporary dance.
