QUARTET - PREMIERE

National Theatre Bucharest - "Ion Caramitru" Hall

November 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM

Reggie is grumpy and wants peace.
Wilfred is cynical and wants women.
Cissy is amnesiac and wants to repent.
Jean is aggressive and wants to kill everyone.

Four people in a nursing home. Four opera singers. Four divas. A quartet. And a great challenge - a final concert.

They can no longer sing but they can cause a scandal.
They no longer remember what they ate for breakfast but they don't forget the loves and betrayals of their youth.
They no longer have strength but they have huge egos.
They no longer have time but they have secrets.
They are old but they are immature.
They would be wonderful if they weren't unbearable.

Quartet - a comedy about old age, love, art, friendship, and memory.
Quartet - a moving story about loneliness and fame.
Quartet - a tender meditation on what life is, with all its beauty and misery.
